As September ends, we look ahead atwhat promises to be a busy October. Tomorrow, we'll be sending home the first news letter of the year. You can also find it here.
First up, I'll be sending home information regarding auditions for the MCPS 6-8 Honors Chorus. I expect to receive the information soon, so it should be sent home and published during the second or third week of October. Included will be all the details you'll need to prepare for the auditions in November. This is an exciting opportunity for our singers, and I hope many of our students participate!
Then towards the end of the month, we'll have our first performance of the year. The EMS Chorus will be participating in the DCC Choral Cluster Concert at Northwood HS on October 22. Eight schools will be singing that evening, so it should be a great night of music! More details are included in the newsletter mentioned above, and we'll also send home a complete information sheet about the event, probably some time next week.
Finally, on October 30, the Music Department will be starting it's fall fundraiser! This is a great chance for students to help defray the cost of their Spring Trip to Hershey. Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the kick-off.
As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns, , don't hesitate to contact me via phone or email. Thanks, and I'm looking forward to seeing you all at our performance at Northwood HS on October 22!
